J&K Reports 540 Covid-19 Cases, 2 Deaths

Srinagar, Feb 11 (GNS): Daily Covid cases in Jammu and Kashmir fell to 34-day low, with 540 infections reported in the last 24 hours even as two persons succumbed to the virus during the time, officials said on Friday.

They said 312 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu Division and 228 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall infection tally to 449873. On January 7, 542 persons had tested positive for the pathogen in J&K.

Regarding the fatalities, the officials told GNS that both of them were reported from Kashmir Valley. So far 4741 persons have succumbed to the virus—2320 in Jammu and 2421 in Kashmir.

Giving district-wise details of the cases, they said, Srinagar reported 89, Baramulla 29, Budgam 32, Pulwama 12, Kupwara 26, Anantnag 7, Bandipora 15, Ganderbal 15, Kulgam 6, Shopian 6, Jammu 131, Udhampur 22, Rajouri 9, Doda 61, Kathua 27, Samba 7, Kishtwar 1, Poonch 6, Ramban 36 and Reasi 12.

A number of these cases were confirmed at GMC Srinagar and Anantnag’s diagnostic labouratory.

The GMC Anantnag cases include include male (65) from Kamad Ang, male (70) from Rampora Ang, male (20) from Munnad Kulgam, female (30) from B B Nowgam, male (38) from Sagam Kokernag, male (50) from Goihard Kokernag, female (60) from Nambal Ang, female (60) from Nowgam Shangus, male (35) from Chittergull Shangus, female (30) from Sirhama Bij, two females (45, 30) from Hallan Lammer, female (65) from Mehmood Abad, female (20) from Wanpora, male (60) from C Pajan, female (50) from Yarhole Babapora, female (38) from Banihal, female (30) from Babapora, male (45) from Wanpora Kulgam and male (32) from Frisal Kulgam.

Besides, they said, 1628 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time— 682 from Jammu Division and 944 from Kashmir. So far 437708 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 7424—2918 in Jammu and 4506 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 52605 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K. (GNS)
