At 686, J&K Witnesses 30-day Low In Daily Case Covid-19 Count

Six Persons Die Due To Virus, Active Cases Now At 3168

Srinagar, Feb 7 (GNS): Daily Covid cases in Jammu and Kashmir fell to 30-day low, with 686 infections reported in the last 24 hours even as six persons succumbed to the virus during the time, officials said on Monday. Regarding the fresh cases, the officials told GNS that 312 were reported from Jammu Division and 374 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall count to 447334. J&K had reported 655 cases on January 8 and 687 on January 9.

Four of the fresh deaths due to the virus were from Jammu Division and two from Kashmir Valley, taking the toll to 4721. 2311 of the deaths so far has been reported from Jammu and 2410 in Kashmir Valley.

Giving district-wise detail of the fresh cases, they said, Srinagar reported 119, Baramulla 41, Budgam 51, Pulwama 29, Kupwara 33, Anantnag 30, Bandipora 19, Ganderbal 9, Kulgam 33, Shopian 10, Jammu 137, Udhampur 25, Rajouri 5, Doda 81, Kathua 10, Samba 4, Kishtwar 28, Poonch 3, Ramban 12 and Reasi 7.
A number of the cases were confirmed from GMC Srinagar and GMC Anantnag respectively.

Besides, they said, 3168 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time— 1038 from Jammu Division and 2130 from Kashmir. So far 427689 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 14924—4968 in Jammu and 9956 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 50,340 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K. (GNS)
