J&K Reports 1606 New Covid-19 Cases, 4 Deaths

J&K Reports 9 Covid-19 Deaths, 2304 Fresh Cases

Srinagar, Feb 5 (GNS): Jammu and Kashmir reported 1606 new coronavirus cases while four persons succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday.

They said 887 of the fresh cases were confirmed from Jammu Division and 719 from Kashmir valley, taking the overall case tally to 445497.

Giving district-wise details, officials told GNS that Srinagar reported 212 cases, Baramulla 113, Budgam 75, Pulwama 47, Kupwara 63, Anantnag 86, Bandipora 45, Ganderbal 35, Kulgam 33, Shopian 10, Jammu 307, Udhampur 46, Rajouri 24, Doda 259, Kathua 24, Samba 94, Kishtwar 26, Poonch 19, Ramban 79 and Reasi 9.

Regarding the fresh fatalities, the officials told GNS that two each were reported from Jammu division and Kashmir valley respectively. So far 4706 people have died due to the virus—2302 in Jammu and 2404 in Kashmir Valley.

A number of the cases were confirmed at diagnostic laboratories associated with GMC Srinagar and GMC Anantnag.

The GMC Anantnag cases include male (55) from 18BN CRPF Kulgam, two males (51, 56) from Anantnag, female (18) from Guffan Kulgam, male (23) from D Dulla Kulgam, female (26) from Raban Kulgam, male (30) from Kuchipora Qazigund, male (35) from Banihal, female (30) from Wanpora Kulgam, male (40) from Churath Anantnag, female (30) from Devsar, male (15) from Nowpora, female (22) from Agroo, male (26) from Achabal, male (18) from Bidder Kokernag, male (40) from Panzgam Kokernag, male (45) from Soaf Kokernag, male (52) from Nagam Kokernag, male (37) from Bijbehara Ang, male (40) from Hapatnard Ang, male (45) from Nowgam Ang, male (36) and female (36) from Kerala, female (33) from Calcutta, two females (44, 20) from Pune, male (29) from Delhi, male (27) from Tooru Shangus, male (40) from Utreso Ang, female (23) from Shangus, female (20) from Dalwach, male (30) from Newa, female (14) from Sadiwara, female (23) and male (80) from Dessu Kokernag, male (40) from Dandipora Kokernag.

Besides, they said, 5019 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time— 1166 from Jammu Division and 3853 from Kashmir. So far 415109 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 20663—6570 in Jammu and 14094 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 39,626 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K. (GNS)
