Srinagar, May 14: (GNS) Acclaimed scholar and orator Qari Danish Ahmad has strongly condemned the act of filing of plea by one Waseem Rizvi, seeking to ‘obliterate verses from Holy book of Muslims – Quran’.
Ahmad, who is the patron of Dar-ul-Uloom Kashif-ul-Uloom in Ghoos, Kupwara while talking to GNS said that he fully backs the views as held by the elders of Ummah on the particular issue.
Ahmad while elaborating cited a verse from the Holy Quran, which translates as, “…He (Allah) has revealed the Quran and He will protect it (15:9).”
Maintaining that the Rizvi is a perpetrator, Ahmad said “It is just his name that is creating confusion, otherwise his beliefs are radical in nature through which he is trying to create a divide between Muslim Ummah, to which we need to remain cautious about.”
Demanding a stringent action, the famed scholar said that “The government should take a strict action against the culprit for the anti-Quranic plea, who is aiming to vitiate the communal harmony and should at the same time solidify the operating anti-blasphemy laws to avert such bids in future.”
Maulana Mohammad Shafi Makki, Chandigam Lolab running a seminary Khairan Dareen Chandigam Lolab had somewhat similar views on the issue. “The plea made by the person (Waseem Rizvi) should be condemned unequivocally by one and all”, Makki said adding that “The Supreme Court as such should trash the plea as to send a positive message across the Muslims, whose sentiments, according to the cleric, have been deeply hurt by the act.”
Meanwhile, President Auqaaf-e-Islamia, Lalpora Lolab Mahmood-ul-Hassan in a statement, stated that “The Holy Qur’an is book of Allah (and the words of Allah), which has a universal appeal.”
The Holy book has been revealed to the Holy Prophet and Allah himself has challenged the accursed people like Wasim Rizvi through this Holy Qur’an and made it clear that the ‘…Qur’an is the word of Allah and he will himself protect it.’
Maintaining that Rizvi’s blasphemous assertion is an ‘accusation against Allah and His Messenger and the Religious Caliphs and no Muslim will tolerate this accusation under any circumstances’, Hassan further stated that Markazi Auqaaf Islamia Lalpora strongly condemns the move of the accursed Wasim Rizvi and demands that the Supreme Court of India dismiss the petition and initiate an action against the person for inciting sectarian divide for disturbing the peace in the country.
Pertinent to mention here that Waseem Rizvi, a former chairman of the Shia Central Board of Waqf in Uttar Pradesh has evoked a sharp criticism into filing of a plea earlier this week before Supreme Court, wherein he has sought to obliterate twenty-six verses from Holy book of Muslims – Quran.
