Kupwara, Mar 9: (GNS) Kupwara police on Tuesday arrested an alleged ‘notorious drug peddler’ from whose possession it claimed to have recovered contraband in Kralpora area of this north-Kashmir district.
A police official told GNS that acting on specific inputs about the ‘drug-peddler’, Kupwara police constituted a team leading to contraband recovery including one kilogram and two-hundred grams of Charas-like substance and thirteen grams of Brown Sugar from the accused in presence of a Magistrate from the house of one Mohammad Zaman Lone son of Sumander Lone resident of Khargund, Kralpora.
Identifying the accused as one Tariq Ahmed Lone a resident of Khargund, Kralpora, the official said that the (now), a notorious drug peddler, the official further said that an FIR number 8/2021 under section 8/20, 21 NDPS has been taken up at Police Station Kralpora.
The official in the meantime has appealed locals to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their area as to bring the culprits to justice. (GNS)
