Handwara, Sep 28 (GNS): Hundreds of mobile phone subscribers in Shahnagri Mawar hamlet in Handwara are up in arms against cellular service providers over the persisting weak connectivity in the area.
A delegation from the area to GNS maintained that all the cellular companies including Airtel, BSNL, and JIO have over the time failed to provide the full strength signal to the area, which according to the delegation, has put the subscribers into great hardships.
“The businessmen, students and other common people in the area are facing huge difficulties amid the persisting weak connectivity”, they said adding “Not only we suffer while making basic voice calls, we are equally jeopardised while trying to access the Internet.”
Maintaining that the area had “some fair connectivity” before the ongoing ‘Lockdown situation’, the delegation members said that “After the Lockdown was clamped, signal strength deteriorated steadily with seemingly no one on the ground to be asked for this breakdown.”
“Even then we approached the respective offices’ of these companies’ however nothing significant is being done on the ground to redress the issue for all these months”, the members alleged.
“We are yet again making a fervent appeal to all the concerned higher-ups of all these service providers, through this medium, to resolve the pending issue on a priority basis so as to alleviate our sufferings for the want of this basic facility”, the delegation said adding “If at all there is any technical snag with any machinery, we urge it to be fixed sooner than later.”
Meanwhile, when contacted, an official from mobile service provider Airtel assured timely resolution of the issue.
“We would look into the matter and resolve it accordingly as soon as possible”, the official said. (GNS)
